Your
grade in your IDLA Psychology class has been a 62% for the last three weeks of
the semester because of one big project that you almost finished but then
didn't turn in because you didn't get the last part done. Because you
have a zero for that assignment, it's dragging your whole grade into the
toilet.
It's now the last week of the semester before finals. You have two more days of the class. You're taking this class online, so your parents have paid money for it and you were planning to get college credit, which you won’t if you fail. The final is worth 20% of your semester grade.
Your mom is super upset and says if you don't get the project in for credit, you'll have no phone, no internet, no TV, no contact with your friends, and nothing to eat but broccoli and plain oatmeal all weekend.

I decide to redo the assignment, and ask for extra credit. If there is no available extra credit, then I will study as hard as I can for the final. I choose to do this, because sometimes you do not get an option on what you need/want to do. Sometimes you have to take life as it is, and accept it. Another reason I chose this is because sometimes you also have to do extra to succeed. There are many ways to succeed in life, one of them being to not procrastinate.

DeleteYou talk to your teacher person online and ask him/her if there is any way you could redo the project finish it and turn it in. If that doesn't bring your grade up a whole lot then ask what you could do for extra credit.

I would finish the assignment, and turn it in, and then study my butt off for the final. I would finish the assignment, although I wouldn't want to, because it would probably bring my grade up a little bit. I would probably stay up all night studying because I procrastinate, so that's probably when I would start studying, because the final is worth 20% of my grade PLUS I'm getting college credit for it so I want to get the highest grade I can possibly get so it doesn't screw up my grades for college too.
ReplyDeleteif that was me in that situation then i would study hard and be staying up super late every night working on this assighnment trying to get it done. also as greg said i would like to find some sort of extra credit to do to try and bring my grade up. from that day on i would also like to keep up on the progression of all my assighnments and not slack off until the very last second.

DeleteIf I was stuck in this situation, I would email my teacher and explain why my grade is dropping and how I feel. I would to talk to my teacher about any options that I had because most IDLA teachers are willing to help. Secondly I would hurry up and finish up the project even though it is way past due because some points are better than no points, and even if you fail the assignment it is much better to get a grade for it then to have a zero. After I was finished I would definitely make sure that I studied hard. I would make sure though, that I stayed up late and did whatever I could to finish. I procrastinate a lot so I think I could pull off at least high D or low C.
ReplyDeleteI would decide to finish the project and do a really good job on it so my grade would go up. I made that decision because i want good grades because they benefit you in the future. I also made that decision because I really like my internet and tv and i really don't like broccoli.

2. this done then i could pass the class and get the college credits.
I would redo the assignment and do all that i can to gain extra credit, not for the sake that i would be grounded but, because grades mean a lot to me. Also, i don't like oatmeal, gross... but anyways, with the final coming up, I'd be determined to get a good grade on that as well, so that i can boost my grade. It would have been my fault that i didn't finish and get it in, therefore it would be my responsibility to make it up. I don't expect handouts, you have to work for it.

ReplyDelete1. probably because I don't want to live the weekend with out Internet and I care a lot about my grades and my parents money.
2. It will be better for me in the long run to complete and pass the class.
I would have to finish my project even if I didnt want because my phone is my everything practicly and so are my freinds. Plus I would do them because my parents would have to pay for it and that would really suck because I would have to pay them back. Besides it would help my grades out in the long run if I finish it.
